ABLE relies upon volunteers and contributions to serve low-income senior citizens, disabled individuals and military veterans - primarily in Central Kentucky. In addition, ABLE volunteers undertake international mission trips to assist in orphanges, schools, clinics and other facilities serving those in need.

A typical local project might include building a handicapped-accessible ramp for an individual with mobility issues. It might include repairing badly worn windows or doors or providing insulation to make a home comfortable in winter weather.

Internationally, ABLE has completed missions in Uganda, Burma, Kenya, Ghana, Haiti, Bolivia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Belize.

Larger domestic missions have been conducted in Appalachia and on a Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona.

In each case, ABLE brings a greater quality of life and new "hope" to people who struggle to get through each day.

Our ABLE Youth program enables young people to engage in many of these projects, as well as local service projects in Lexington and Austin, TX. This helps develop an understanding of the value of service in these youngsters' lives.
