For 15 years, Bluegrass Greensource has been the resource for encouraging Central Kentuckians to make small changes in their everyday lives that will lead to big impacts in our local environment. We do this by providing environmental education and outreach to children and adults throughout 20 counties in the Bluegrass. Our work includes community-led litter clean ups, providing rain barrel and rain garden workshops, assisting businesses reduce their waste and become more sustainable, improving water quality, and working directly with preK-12 students to provide environmental education and support educators who want to incorporate the environment into lessons on math, language arts, and science.

In our 15-year history, we have helped install solar panels on the Estill County Animal Shelter; help turn a brownfield in Crab Orchard into a public green space; install a beautiful mural depicting the Licking River in Cynthania; create a walking trail in Lancaster; and pilot an important new composting program in Madison County. In the last year alone, we engaged students in 4,352 classes, invested nearly $70,000 in green infrastructure, and reached 189,238 people throughout the region.

If you believe in the importance of environmental education, if you believe that it should be taught in schools, you share the same values as 96% of your fellow Kentuckians. Please consider making a gift to Bluegrass Greensource during this year's GoodGiving Challenge and show your support for strong environmental education!
