CASA of the Bluegrass

A nonprofit organization

$8,030 raised by 46 donors

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the Bluegrass is a nonprofit that recruits, screens, trains, and supervises community volunteers to advocate for child victims of abuse and neglect in the Family Court Systems of Anderson, Boyle, Franklin, and Mercer Counties.

After an extensive training of over 30 hours, CASA Volunteers are appointed to serve children who have entered the Family Court System as a result of abuse and/or neglect.  CASA Volunteers advocate for the best interest of children by completing thorough investigations of the child's situation and offering recommendations concerning the child's needs and future.  CASA Volunteers work collaboratively with social workers, family members, educators, medical professionals, and attorneys to facilitate services, ensure implementation of court orders, and most importantly, to ensure safety and permanency.
